Directions From the Logan Airport

By taxi:                 

30 40 minutes, $20 $25

By subway:

30 45 minutes, $1.25 (token required)

Take the free airport shuttle bus to the Airport stop (on the Blue Line). Then take the Blue Line inbound train four stops to Government Center.  At Government Center, change to the Green Line.  Go westbound one stop to Park Street. At Park Street, change to the Red Line, take the outbound train towards Alewife. Get off at the Harvard Square Stop which is the the fourth stop. To walk from the station, see walking directions.
 

From Railroad and Bus Terminals:

Amtrak trains arrive at South Station, buses arrive next door.  The subway (T) stop is outside the train station.

By subway:

From South Station, take the Red Line toward Alewife. The Harvard Square stop is the sixth stop from South Station. Then see the walking directions.

Walking from Harvard Square:  

At the top of the main stairs for the Harvard T station, you will be at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and JFK Street.  Turn left down JFK, passing the Curious George Goes to Wordsworth bookstore.  Walk to the corner of JFK and Eliot Street; turn right on Eliot toward the Charles Hotel.  Go up the stairs to the inner courtyard of the Charles Hotel and through the door under the yellow awning (the awning lists the Hauser Center). The Center is the first office on your left. Please refer to our photos on the top of the page to get a better visual understanding of the office area.

Driving Directions

From South of Boston:

Take I-93 North to Exit 26 from the new tunnel underneath downtown Boston. The new I-93 North Exit 26 will widen to two travel lanes.  Stay on the right travel lane heading to Storrow Drive.  Continue on Storrow Drive approximately 4 miles to Harvard Square exit.  Turn right at end of ramp onto John F. Kennedy Street.  At the second light, take a left onto Eliot Street, then bear left onto Bennett Street at the first light.  The Charles Hotel will be on your left.  The Hauser Center is located under the yellow awning, the first entrance on your left, in the courtyard of the Charles Hotel.

From North of Boston

Take I-93 South to exit 26A (Leverett Circle ramp).  Keep in left hand lane which will merge with other traffic in a tunnel, leading directly onto Storrow Drive. Continue on Storrow Drive approximately 4 miles to Harvard Square exit.  Turn right at end of ramp, crossing the river, through a set of lights and onto John F. Kennedy Street.  At the next set of lights, take a left onto Eliot Street, then bear left onto Bennett Street at the first light.  The Charles Hotel will be on your left.  The Hauser Center is located under the yellow awning, the first entrance on your left, in the hotel courtyard.

From West of Boston:

Take I-90 East (Mass. Turnpike) to exit 18 (Cambridge / Allston).  Bear right after toll booth at end of exit ramp.  Turn left at first set of lights (before the bridge) onto Storrow Drive.  Take Harvard Square exit (1/2 mile ahead) and turn right at end of ramp onto John F. Kennedy Street.  At the second light, take a left onto Eliot Street, then bear left onto Bennett Street at the first light.  The Charles Hotel will be on your left.  The Hauser Center is located under the yellow awning, the first entrance on your left, in the hotel courtyard.

Parking

There is very little parking available in Harvard Square. You can park in the Charles Hotel lot, although the Center is presently unable to provide validation.  Costs range from $3 for half an hour or less to $15 for up to 24 hours, or $18 with valet parking. The hotel lot will only accept cash or checks, not credit cards.  There is also a public parking lot on Eliot Street.
