Xing Hu recently joined the Hauser Center after three years working with Ashoka: Innovators for the Public in Washington DC, where she helped engage donors and supporters globally from its Global Engagement Team. Prior to that, she jointly established the operations system for the US program of Ashoka's Youth Venture.
Originally from China, where she went to college and
graduate school, and then worked for three years with the
national government of China in Beijing, Xing is well
versed in the culture and the state of China. While at
Ashoka, Xing served on Ashoka's Task Force to prepare the
organization for its entry into China. On the ground in
China, Xing was a social entrepreneur herself. She
co-founded a non-profit organization, Dream Corps, five years ago, which
recruits, trains and sends Chinese-speaking volunteers
to rural areas in China to build libraries for kids.
Xing has also worked briefly with the executive training
program of the Duke Center for International Development
and The World Bank, which experiences have enriched her
perspectives of both international organizations and
applied programs in academic institutions.
Xing received her BA in English from Beijing Foreign
Studies University, Master of Laws in International
Politics from Beijing University, and Master of Public
Policy from Duke University.
