Mid-Career Fellow (Philanthropy)
Mary Alice was the Executive Director of the Riecken Foundation, a family foundation dedicated to increasing access to information in developing countries. The foundation has established over sixty community libraries in Honduras and Guatemala, each of which provides free public Internet access and a host of educational programs for children, youth and adults. Prior to joining the Riecken Foundation, Mary Alice headed the sales department for Ladyslipper, Inc, a social enterprise nonprofit dedicated to supporting women in the arts. She has a PhD in Political Science from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
