Harvard’s Hauser Center Names Aviva Luz Argote as
CAMBRIDGE, MA. – The Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations based at Harvard Kennedy School announces the appointment of Aviva Luz Argote as its new executive director. “Aviva brings us not only a solid training in management and administration, but also a passion for the work and workplaces of nonprofit organizations,” said the Center’s faculty director, Christopher Stone. “I am excited to be beginning my role as faculty director in partnership with Aviva as executive director.” “I am delighted to be joining the Hauser Center community,” said Aviva. “I feel inspired by the emerging opportunities to bridge research and practice in the nonprofit domain and to facilitate such synergies across the University and beyond.” A native of New York City, Aviva holds a Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the Kennedy School. She brings to the position a decade of experience leading and mentoring nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as manager of special projects in the Office of the President and Provost at Harvard University. Previously she was awarded a Harvard University Presidential Management Fellowship serving as special projects analyst in the Office of Budgets Financial Planning and Institutional Research. Aviva’s prior experience includes work with the Rand Corporation, Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina, the Community for Education Foundation, and the Coro New York Leadership Center where she served as senior program director and director of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs. In her role as executive director, Aviva will team with Hauser Center faculty director Christopher Stone in helping lead the Center into its second decade. She will manage the day-to-day activities of the Center, oversee staff and project development, and represent the Center with constituencies worldwide. Aviva bikes to work from her home in Cambridge where she resides with her husband and daughter.
