Chickasaw Press
Division of History, Research, and Scholarship - Chickasaw Nation
For a long time, the stories of the Chickasaws have been told primarily by others. Chickasaw scholars have little outlet for their work and leading publishers have shown only limited interest. One of the ways the Chickasaw Nation is addressing this challenge is through the Chickasaw Press. Framed as a service to the Nation, the Press operates with the full support of the tribal government. It publishes books written by Chickasaw citizens and by others, using the highest standards of professional editing and production. In doing so, it gives new life to an ancient storytelling tradition.
