Students in courtyard following HKS Day of Service

International Students

The Harvard Kennedy School strives to train enlightened leaders to solve public policy issues in all corners of the world.  With this in mind, we are committed to ensuring that our faculty, students, and staff are exposed to a broad array of ideas, insights, and cultures.  International Students from over 80 countries comprise approximately 44 percent of HKS' diverse student population, making HKS the most international graduate school at Harvard.

The robust representation of international students in the HKS community not only contributes to the diversity of perspectives in the classroom but also brings an unmatched richness to the student life experience.  There are numerous clubs and caucuses that focus on global and regional policy problems at HKS.  International Night, an evening which honors the diverse cultures and cuisines of our student body, remains one of the most popular student-run events each year.

We encourage all prospective international applicants to visit the Harvard International Office for information on visas, taxes, travel, identification cards, health care and insurance, and general information about Cambridge and Harvard.
