Develops a conceptual understanding of the basic properties of networks and their implications. Networks are studied in the context of the empirical analysis of large systems and big data. The systems studied include technical systems, such as the internet and the world wide web, and socioeconomic systems, such as social networks and industry-location networks. The course is taught as a mixture of lectures and group projects.
Enrollment limited. Also offered by MIT as MAS 961 and held at MIT. Please note the first day of class is February 5.
