Digital Communications Workshop: Crowdsourced Reporting- Storytelling from Multiple Vantage Points with Annie Shreffler, Free

Digital Communications Workshop presented by Annie Shreffler, Freelance Multimedia Reporter. Annie will present best practices and examples of good crowdsourced projects.
She’ll discuss her experience with crowdsourcing story content with web based tools which she used for two public media projects, one covering the effects of the economic crisis in 2009 from an NYC perspective, the other a call for stories about the current gay rights movement.
Annie obtained her MA at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in New York City, and worked for WNYC Public Radio as a new media producer. There she conducted crowdsource reporting for The Brian Lehrer Show. Annie also worked for WNYC on the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's Economy Story collaboration, and authored Crowdsourcing: A eldguide from WNYC.  Annie's reporting has appeared on WNYC.org, Huffington Post, Gannet Journal News, Norwood News, Open Media Boston, PBS.org, WGBHLab.org, WORLDCOMPASS.org and the Knight
Foundation News Blog. She currently freelances in Boston and writes about new media and other matters on her blog, Just the Facts. Find her on Twitter at @annieshreff.
