M-RCBG Seminar: Challenges and Opportunities in Regulating Banks, Insurance Companies and Retirement Funds in Peru
Regulators have been at the center of the debate (blame?) in the current economic recession. Taking over the job of Chief Financial Regulator for Peru in mid-2011 has been quite a challenge: from applying Basel regulations in a growing economy, to licensing incoming Chinese (and other) banks, to ensuring market transparency, to reforming big-actor retirement funds. Daniel Schydlowsky, Peru's Superintendente de Banca, Seguros y AFPs will share an off-the-record hour on what it's like and how science and art need to get mixed into an effective policy.
