Mongolian President Discusses Personal Liberty in a Free Country at JFK Jr. Forum

His excellency Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj MC/MPA 2002, President of Mongolia, spoke at the JFK Jr. Forum on September 21. The Harvard Crimson reports he discussed Mongolia's peaceful transition into capitalism and democracy, corruption, human rights, and his success in revitalizing his home country.

The Harvard Crimson — Speaking to a packed audience in the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum, Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj dubbed Mongolia as the current world leader in freedom, referring to it as the “democratic anchor of the east.

He encouraged other nations to follow suit and forge a policy to support “human rights, openness, and justice.

Having graduated from Harvard Kennedy School with a Masters in Public Administration in 2002, Elbegdorj called it a “high honor to return to Harvard” after ten years. He stated that he still ran on Harvard fuel even now as a head of state.
