CAMBRIDGE, MA—To mark its 30th anniversary, the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government (M-RCBG) at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) will be hosting a panel discussion at 6 p.m. October 30th at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum, 79 JFK Street, Cambridge. The Forum, titled “The Vexed Relationship between Business and Government,” will be moderated by Nina Easton, fellow at Harvard’s Institute of Politics, Washington Bureau Chief for Fortune Magazine and commentator for Fox News.
Panelists will include:
• Lawrence H. Summers, Charles W. Eliot University Professor and M-RCBG Director;
• Roger Porter, IBM Professor of Business & Government at the Harvard Kennedy School;
• Ben Heineman, distinguished senior fellow at the Harvard Law School Program on Corporate Governance and the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Since 1982, M-RCBG has worked to advance the state of knowledge and policy analysis concerning some of society’s most challenging problems at the interface of the public and private sectors. The shock of the financial crisis, the shifts in the distribution of global economic power, and the changes being brought about by information technology combine to make this an unusually important moment to reexamine traditional assumptions about the relationships between government and business. The world has changed enormously in the last 30 years, but the need for thoughtful engagement in the business and government sectors remains as strong as ever.
