Connect to your site via WebDAV OR on the L: & M: Drive
WebDAV is a technology that allows Dreamweaver to securely and easily exchange files with your website (similar to using an FTP client) both on and off campus. KSG ITS will provide WebDAV access to sites that once used Frontpage to connect. This does not apply to websites that are on the L: or M: Drive. See information below to connect to L: or M: drive websites.
WebDAV is easiest to use if you have set up a Dreamweaver site (discussed below). To connect to your webpages you first need to set up a Dreamweaver "Site" to enter your connection information
Setting up Dreamweaver "Sites"
Dreamweaver has a function that did not exist in Frontpage called a "Site." The Dreamweaver Site records all your links and templates, and makes finding your files easier. A Site is set up by running a short wizard, found under Site/Manage Sites.
Dreamweaver Sites will keep basic information about your site, including:
- the server you wish to connect to
- where you store your files after you have downloaded them
- all your link information (allowing you to move pages within your site without any links breaking)
- controlling your pages site-wide via a template
- controlling your pages site-wide via CSS
Instructions for Site Creation and WebDAV Connection
Faculty/Staff Connection
Instructions for setting up a site and connecting our web server via WebDAV to edit your site. Note that you only need to follow this process once. Afterwards, the information you enter during this process will be stored on the computer you used during setup.
Student Connection for KSSG Organizations
Instructions for setting up a site and connecting our web server via WebDAV to edit student organization sites. Students need to follow this process every time they connect to their group websites in the lab (Lab computers are cleared of all saved information each night). Dreamweaver is available on all machines in the quiet room.
Connect to an L: & M: Drive Website
If your website resides on the L:Drive, you will have to connect to it in a slightly different way. Instructions are below:
