FORUM | Progress in Peace Process Appearing together for the first time, Serbian President Boris Tadic KSGEE 2000 and Croatian President Stjepan Mesic discussed the ongoing reconciliation process between countries at war during the previous decade. FORUM | CEO Defends Record The first female CEO of a Fortune “500” company, Carly Fiorina, former head of Hewlett-Packard, came to the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum in October to tell her side of the story. Twenty months after her controversial ouster, she defended her record as a company leader and visionary in the technology industry.
FORUM | Voice from Iran Speaking at the Forum in September, former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami called for an end to violence in the name of religion while decrying militarism in the name of human rights and democracy. Graham Allison, director of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, defended Khatami’s controversial appearance by noting that President Bush wanted to hear his views. Indeed, many others did too and, in Forum tradition, audience members asked Khatami pointed questions about Israel, Hezbollah, nuclear weapons, and human rights abuses in Iran.
