The German Jewish Dialogue

The German Jewish Dialogue at the Kennedy School is a group of students who meet regularly to establish closer ties and mutual understanding between the members of the German- Austrian and Jewish communities.

We pursue two “tracks” in our conversations: on a personal level, we talk among ourselves about topics that are of particular interest to the participants of the Dialogue. In one of the meetings last semester, for example, we discussed Michael Verhoeven’s movie “Nasty Girl”. The second “track” is concerned with our contribution to the wider Harvard community. We invite guest speakers and organize discussion events at the Kennedy School. Speakers in the last years included: Ambassador Avi Primor, Susan Stern, Mark Talisman (Holocaust Museum Washington, D.C.) and Benny Ziffer (Ha’aretz).

The meetings of the German Jewish Dialogue are open to everybody and interested students are encouraged to join and share their views. Watch out for email announcements about upcoming events or please contact Gunilla Fincke for details.

Hope to meet you soon!
