Old By-Laws
I. Mission
The mission of the organization is to provide recreational and exercise
opportunities to all members of the John F Kennedy School of Government
interested rowing.
II. Officers
- A. Co-Chairs
- The two Co-chairs are responsible for running all Rowing Club events,
fundraising, meetings, and athletic events. The senior Co-Chair is responsible
for conducting all meetings, and organizing the executive committee. The
junior Co-Chair will head the fundraising committee.
- B. Secretary/Treasurer
- The Secretary/Treasurer is responsible for keeping track of all club
finances, for recording the minutes of all meetings, and for scheduling all
meetings. The Secretary/Treasurer chairs the Communications Committee.
- C. Boat Captains
- The Men's and Women's Boat Captains are responsible for the scheduling and
follow-through of all practices and race related events. The Boat Captains
chair the Events Committee.
- D. KSSG Representative
- The KSSG Representative will represent the club and its interests at all
KSSG meetings.
III. Elections
Elections for Officers will be held twice a year, at the beginning of each
semester. In the fall, the office of Co-Chair, Women's Boat Captain, and KSSG
Representatives will be elected. The spring election will be for the second
Co-chair position, Men's Boat Captain, and that of Secretary/Treasurer. All
terms will be for one year.
IV. Miscellaneous
- A. Quorum: A quorum will consist of one plus one half of the active
members.
- B. Officers will meet on an as needed basis, but not less than once a
month. Regular meetings will be held once a month, and may be held in
conjunction with other events.
- C. There are three standing committees: Fundraising, Events and
Communications.
- D. All meetings of the Kennedy School Rowing Club are open to the entire
Kennedy School Community.
These by-laws were approved and submitted to the Kennedy School Student
Government on February 27, 1996, by the following Kennedy School Students: Bruce
Andersen, William White, Jennifer Schank, Jeff Franzer, Alice Lin, Jean-Michel
Wan-Min-Kee, Jeremy Zucker, Alexis Thompson, Dan Anderson, Pat Davis, and Sabine
Kaiser, Hassan El-Nahas, and Leo Lopez.
