Course Materials at the Library
Many course materials including books, vidoes, and course packets may be available on reserve at the library for a 3-hour loan period. Use the search box above to find out what is on reserve for your course by course number or name or by the name of the instructor.
Purchasing Course Packets
Course packets may be purchased Monday-Friday in Belfer, G-7 from 9:30am-5:00pm. The cost of course packets will be charged to your term bill. Please remember to bring a valid Harvard ID with you in order to purchase a packet. A term bill will be sent to the Student Billing Office monthly where the charges will be reflected as a cumulative amount, not itemized. If you need an itemized report of your purchases, please contact the Course Materials staff at cmo@harvard.edu.
Returning Course Packets
Course packets are non-refundable. The cost of a packet includes printing and copyright fees. Our agreement with publishers is that the intellectual property is sold once the packet is purchased.
Sold Out Course Packets
Sold out packets are not automatically reordered. The CMO will reorder packets for which we receive requests and reserve them for anyone requesting a packet. Please be aware that you must purchase the packet at the CMO in order for us to place the reorder. Once the order is placed we are not able to refund or cancel the request. Often these packets can be ready as early as the next business day; however the CMO does not produce most materials on site. They are produced and delivered by an outside vendor.
Course Packet Availability Board
Go here to find out which packets are currently available at the CMO. Please note that some packets may be sold out. Sold out packets can be ordered at the CMO and can be available within 24 hours. This board is updated daily.
Classroom Handouts
The cost of classroom handouts distributed by the faculty is charged to students. These cumulative costs will be reflected in your term bill at the end of the semester. These charges will include the printing costs as well as possible copyright fees associated with the material.
Stata Software
Stata is available in the computer lab, therefore you DO NOT need to purchase Stata to complete assignments. The CMO sells 2 versions of Stata Software:
- Small Stata 12.0 ($49) has all of the capabilities of Intercooled except for the fact that it has smaller datasets and the license expires after one year. This is not a problem for API 202 B/C/D, however we strongly encourage you to check with your faculty member before making any non-returnable purchases.
- Intercooled Stata 12.0 ($196) works with larger data sets and has a lifetime license.
