New E-Journal: The Chronicle of Philanthropy

The Chronicle of Philanthropy provides news and information for executives of tax-exempt organizations in health, education, religion, the arts, social services, and other fields, as well as fund raisers, professional employees of foundations, institutional investors, corporate grant makers, and charity donors. Along with news, it offers such service features as lists of grants, fundraising ideas and techniques, statistics, reports on tax and court rulings, summaries of books, and a calendar of events.

Academic Search Alumni Edition – Now Available to All Alumni!

To support the work of HKS alumni around the world, the Library now provides access to EBSCO’s Academic Search Alumni Edition. This resource provides full-text for more than 3,350 journals as well as indexing and abstracting for more than 8,200 journals. It covers many areas of academic study including public policy, international affairs, economics, environment, religion, education, the sciences, and more. Over 3000 of the journals included in full-text are peer-reviewed.  To register for free access, please email library_research@hks.harvard.edu.

Beginning this fall, registration and access to Academic Search Alumni Edition will be through the Alumni Relations and Resource Development extranet.

New E-Resource: CQ HealthBeat

CQ HealthBeat contains health news from Congressional Quarterly including information about recent and upcoming hearings on health-related issues and links to health legislation and regulation.

New Business E-Resources: Knowledge Mosaic & Orbis

Knowledge Mosaic contains industry news, research, guidance, and current awareness on matters pertaining to federal regulation and disclosure.

Orbis is a database of information covering 60 million companies worldwide.

Gallup Brain contains 70+ years of public opinion data and analysis compiled by Gallup, Inc. For other sources of public opinion data see our Public Opinion Research Guide.

Tax Analysts Web Services provides federal, state, and international tax news and analysis as well as administrative documents, court opinions, and news archives by country.

New! The World Bank eAtlas of Global Development

The World Bank eAtlas of Global Development maps and graphs more than 175 thematically organized indicators, some going back over several decades, for over 200 countries.

Using this tool you can compare and view two maps simultaneously, animate maps to show change over time, view all data in ranking tables and charts alongside maps, export maps and data for use in presentations, and import your own data

FDsys replaces GPOAccess for online access to government publications.

Starting this month GPOAccess will become strictly an archive of government publications with no new content being added. New publications, as well as older items, are now at GPO’s FDsys (Federal Digital System). Go to http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/ to find a specific publication or to browse collections.
