Making Links on Classpages to Online Journal Articles

During this process you will need at least three windows open. One window will contain this guide, one will be used to locate your article and the last will contain your course page.

Locate the full text of the article

Search for your article using the Citation Linker.

Decide which database to use

Citation Linker will open a list of databases to choose from. Links from EBSCO databases such as Academic Search Premier and Business Source Complete are preferred so that cross-registered students can access those articles from home.

If EBSCO isn't in the list of databases, choose from one of the other databases in Step 3.

Place the link on the classpage

In the On-Line Materials section of the classpage, click on URL and then paste your URL into the space provided, along with entering the link's title and selecting the folder in which to place the link.

Test the link

It is always a good idea to test the links. Test the link one day after putting it on the classpage.

If you have problems either locating the article that you're looking for or getting the link to work, contact a reference librarian at 495-1302 or ksg_library_questions@harvard.edu
