Critiques of CSR have questioned whether it is feasible for a business to really “Do Well by Doing Good.” Empirical evidence to back up the double bottom line claim seems ambiguous. Activists on the other side of the argument too, have been skeptical of the “Doing Good” claim, dismissing it as “Green Washing.” Yet more and more companies are engaged in CSR today than ever. So what is really going on, and what is the future of CSR as a business discipline?
