Cambridge - The Harvard Environmental Economics Program recently hosted the second Environmental Economics Research
Workshop on September 24-25, 2009 for Alumni and Pre-Doctoral Fellows. The event began with a reception and dinner that allowed Alumni and current Pre-doctoral Fellows the opportunity to meet and discuss their research. Joseph Aldy, former pre-doctoral fellow and Special Advisor to the President for Energy and the Environment, delivered the keynote address following dinner, focusing his remarks on his role in the White House and how climate change policy is being considered. The following day, Professor Stavins introduced the morning presenters, Hunt Allcott and Cynthia Lin, both of whom are former pre-doctoral fellows. Following these presentations, each current fellow gave an egg-timer synopsis of their current works. The afternoon session featured a job market panel, The Life of a Young Economist, in which former fellows shared their experiences and answered questions from current fellows about the current job market. Fifteen alumni and tweleve pre-doctoral fellows were in attendance.
