| Lisa J. Bernt
Lisa J. Bernt is a Visiting Scholar at the Kennedy School of Government. She graduated from Rutgers University (B.A.) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D.), and clerked on the New Jersey Supreme Court. She is admitted to the bar in New Jersey and Massachusetts, and has served as Commission Counsel to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Her research focuses on employment law, covering such topics as the public policy exception in the employment-at-will doctrine as applied to independent contractors, and on the use of the “reasonable person” device in regulating the employment relationship. Her current research focuses on where employees get their information about the law, and the role that the internet plays.
