What does it take to convince one person that our
healthcare system needed to change its pedagogical approach and
routinely address a patient’s complete resource needs instead of
only providing a set of prescriptions? What resources are needed to maintain a sixteen-year
effort to combat the growing tide of poverty and the
inaccessibility of quality comprehensive health care?
Join the Center for Public Leadership for an interactive
conversation with 2012 Gleitsman Citizen Activist Award winner
Rebecca Onie as she answers these questions, and shares her
leadership journey as a champion for social activism through
healthcare. A graduate of Harvard College and Law School, Ms. Onie has
continually worked to make her undergraduate dream a reality while
ensuring that low-income patients are connected with the basic
resources they need in order to be healthy.
This event is free and open to the public and includes a cocktail
reception and moderated panel discussion.
