"Are NGOs Changing World Politics?"

This panel will address the impact of NGOs, theoretically and practically, on world politics, both as they are studied academically and in the daily dynamics of politics, strategy, economics and diplomacy. Moderator: J. Bryan Hehir, Parker Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Religion and Public Life, Harvard Kennedy School Peter Bell, Senior Research Fellow, The Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations, and past President of CARE USA. Robert Paarlberg, Betty Freyhof Johnson Class of 1944 Professor of Political Science at Wellesley College, and Visiting Professor of Government at Harvard Jackie Smith, Associate Professor of Sociology and Peace Studies, the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, University of Notre Dame This is the sixth and final seminar of the series on "Ushering in the Second Decade: The Future of the Nonprofit Sector."
