Our guest this week is Gerry Mooney of IBM who will lead a
discussion about the way we currently address our transportation
problems. While we have great expectations for the application of
technology in all modes of transportation, the real success is
understanding how to balance the right mix of physical and digital
solutions. Can this combination deliver better outcomes and
better use of tax payer dollars?
Gerry is a vice president in IBM’s Global Smarter Cities team. The
Smarter Cities team is playing a leading role in the transformation
and modernization of governments and cities around the world in
core functions like Intelligent Transportation, Public Safety,
Advanced Water Management, Smart Grids and Green Buildings, as well
as traditional government services.
Gerry joined IBM in 2000 and has worked in the areas of venture
capital, strategy, technology, operations and sales. Gerry serves
as a member of the Board of Directors of the Intelligent
Transportation Society of America (ITS America) and is a Trustee of
the Urban Land Institute. He holds an MBA from Yale University, an
