Breakfast Discussion with Benjamin Homan, President, Food for the Hungry: US Foreign Aid - Recommendations for reforming US F

Description: We will hear a report from, and dialogue with, Benjamin K. Homan, member of the US HELP Commission.  He will speak on their recent findings on the effectiveness of US Foreign Assistance.  The HELP Commission was congressionally mandated to deliver to the President, Secretary of State and Congress proposals to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of U.S. foreign assistance in order to reduce poverty through sustained economic growth and self-sufficiency.  The Commission recently delivered bold recommendations for mechanisms, structures and incentives which will create definable, achievable and measurable outcomes that empower recipients and meet U.S. national security and foreign policy goals and objectives. The full report can be found at: http://www.helpcommission.gov/
