Topic: 3 Myths about Grassroots Economic Development: USADF’s work in Sub-Saharan Africa Michele Rivard, MPP “91, is Chief of Staff and Liaison to the Board of Directors, at the U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF), a Federally funded public corporation. USADF impacts 1,000,000 people in marginalized communities across Africa through an innovative grant program that supports African-originated solutions that generate jobs, increase incomes, and raise standards of living. She also is responsible for development efforts, as USADF leverages federal funds with African government and private sector resources. Previously, Michele worked in management consulting, small business development, and privatization and foreign investment in the U.S. and in Central Europe, Russia, Ukraine, and the NIS. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
