Civil and Civic Engagement: Building Better Communities
This is Our DemocracyThis is our democracy. Be it through knocking on doors and
making phone calls for political campaigns, working to fix
community problems, stepping up to fill a leadership void, or
creating a not-for-profit organization to help make our country
just a little bit better - we each have talents to put to use. Too
often, our society fails to foster this multitude of talents.
Therefore, I would pose this question to the study group: How can
we do better to foster these talents and ensure that civic
participation and engagement is encouraged? Only through
sufficiently answering this question will our democracy remain
healthy and thriving, and can we start to repair the damage that’s
already been done.
