Can we build schools for developing countries that use innovative
construction technology, are disaster resistant, cost effective,
energy efficient, sustainable, and adaptive to other sites?
The recently concluded Millennium School Design Competition seeks
to spur innovation at the intersection of design, disaster
management, and education combining new construction methods with
different construction materials to
produce more cost-effective and disaster-resilient school buildings
for the poorest communities in the world.
Out of 300 designers, the top 20 international entries will be on
display. An award ceremony will proceed immediately after the talk
with the announcement of which blueprint will be built as a
prototype in Camarines
Sur, Philippines.
Food and Beverage Will Be Provided
20 Award Winning Entries will be Exhibited
The event will be broadcast globally
Sponsored by the Harvard Center for Public Leadership
and MIT Special Program for Urban and Regional Studies (SPURS),
