Attention HKS Staff: There is still space available for the
November 29th career development session for individual
contributors. This session will be held in Fainsod (L324) from
12:30-3:00. Have you ever wondered what it meant to have career
development without necessarily moving into a new position? Have
you thought about initiating a conversation with your manager to
discuss your ideas for professional growth but didn’t quite know
where to begin?
After attending this session, individual contributors will be
prepared to:
• Anticipate change: Plan for continual change internally and
externally, being better prepared, informed, and motivated.
• Grow relevant competencies: Identify the competencies that are
important to develop for your professional expertise and provide a
process for achieving growth.
• Improve network and reputation across the University. Focus on
“How do I want to be known?” and “How can I help others?”
• Provide process for career discussions. Build comfort and a
process for individual contributors to initiate career discussions
with managers that are mutually beneficial.
This session is a two and a half hour workshop for individual
contributor HKS staff, facilitated by Pam Lassiter. Pam is
Principal of Lassiter Consulting, adjunct faculty at Harvard
University, and certified trainer for Mastery Works internal career
development tools and assessments. This program is based on
Lassiter Consulting’s Growing in Place seminars, Mastery Works
materials, and work by thought leaders in career management.
If you would like to participate, please RSVP to Heidi_Millar@Harvard.edu
Lunch will be served.
