Ever thought about writing a book, but don’t know where to begin? Author Lisa Shannon (A Thousand Sisters, Seal Press, 2010 & Mama Koko and the Hundred Gunmen, Public Affairs, Fall 2014) shares a roadmap from her own one-year leap from a never published novice to an award-winning author in this is a crash course on how to teach yourself to write narrative non-fiction prose. We will cover a variety of tips, including story structure for a compelling read, finding your voice, reading like a writer, holding your audience through heavy material, choosing readers for feedback, and just doing it!
