Impressions of the Accidental Senator: Lessons and Reflections about Our Changing Democracy Discovered During my Unexpected J

SESSION V (10/22/13) -- Which Party Thinks They Own Your Vote? and How Much Are There Competitors Willing to Pay for Your Vote? The 2008 and 2012 presidential elections saw record numbers of minority and young voters exercising their rights at the ballot box. The Democrats enjoyed the most bountiful part of that harvest, leading some Republicans to call for changes to the party platform to better attract and retain the diverse demographic. This week we will look at our party system and discuss what, if anything, they can do to stay relevant in our changing political world. Guests: Senator Angus King (Ind. ME) and Senator Tim Scott (R. S.C.) Littauer 166
