Regulatory Breakdown: The Crisis of Confidence in U.S. Regulation
Regulation has become one of the most contested areas of American domestic politics. In this seminar, contributors to the new book Regulatory Breakdown: The Crisis of Confidence in U.S. Regulation will present their analysis of why leaders across the political spectrum today blame regulation for many of society’s problems and will offer solutions to address deficiencies in the current system. Speakers include: Cary Coglianese, editor of Regulatory Breakdown and author of the chapter “Oversight in Hindsight: Assessing the U.S. Regulatory System in the Wake of Calamity (with Christopher Carrigan); Matthew Baum, who contributed the chapter “Partisan Media and Attitude Polarization: The Case of Healthcare Reform," and Richard Zeckhauser, who contributed the chapter “Addressing Catastrophic Risks: Disparate Anatomies Require Tailored Therapies” (with W.
