Social Policy Entrepreneurship: Changing the World One Big Idea at a Time
Change: Ready or Not, Change HappensA Skype discussion with Michael Horn, the co-founder with Harvard's Clayton Christensen, of Innosight Institute and the author of books and articles on the theory of disruption and inevitable change. Innosight is a think tank devoted to applying the theories of disruptive innovation to problems in the social sector. Dr. Horn will explore with us the inevitability of change to social systems, policy issues, and commercial products by big ideas and big thinkers. Think about the stages of innovation and the length of the timeline between the rotary telephone and the IPhone 5, the Edsel and the Prius, and the exponential speed of change in the 21stCentury anchored with technology. And, we will probe what happens when an elected or appointed leader thinks status quo and the disruptive innovator thinks change. Good over Evil? You decide!
