This symposium examines emerging trends of 3D printing and additive manufacturing (using digital 3D design data). Drawing from the case of Singapore, the symposium reviews innovation policies being pursued by governments to harness the power of additive manufacturing. The symposium will feature a demonstration by Pirate3D Inc., which will donate printers to African institutions. This event is part of the Innovation for Economic Development HKS Executive Education Program and is co-sponsored by the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and Singapore's Institution of Engineers.
