On Veterans Day, November 11, 2009, Harvard will unveil a plaque being presented by the Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization (HVAO) honoring Harvard alumni who have received America's highest military decoration, the Congressional Medal of Honor. Officiating and speaking will be Rev. Peter Gomes; President Drew Faust; and General George W. Casey, Chief of Staff, US Army. The service will begin at 11 A.M. in Memorial Church. The ceremony is sponsored by HVAO, and the Business, Kennedy, and Law Schools' armed forces clubs. The public is invited. Serving and retired military are encouraged to don their uniforms.
