Violence Against Women Study Group: Jackie Jones on Gaps in the Current Legal Framework

Jackie Jones is Secretary General of the European Women Lawyers Association, UK. She will be discussing Gaps in the Current Legal Framework around Violence Against Women. Jones has worked and published extensively on gender, equality, and sex trafficking issues in the EU. Among the many law journal articles she has authored are: ‘Human Dignity in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and its Interpretation before the European Court of Justice,’ Liverpool Law Review; Trafficking of Human Beings in the UK: a focus on children,’ Child and Family Law Quarterly; ‘Trafficking Internet Brides’, Information and Communications Technology Law Journal; ‘The proposals for a Commission for Equality and Human Rights,’ The Journal of Social Welfare and Family Law; and ‘The new equality articles in the Amsterdam Treaty,’ The Journal of Social Welfare and Family Law. In 2012, her book Gender, Sexualities and Law (with K Stevenson, A Grear, R Fenton), originally published in 2011, came out in paperback.
