Will Texas beat California to bulllet trains?
From the Planes, Trains and Automobiles (and Bikes) seminar seriesLone Star High-Speed Rail (LSHSR) is a U.S. company organized to market and deploy Central Japan Railway Company's "bullet" train system and technology in Texas. The particular Texas project is a 200mph high-speed line between Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston. Why is a corridor that was not on President Obama's target HSR list attracting private-sector capital? And how does one design a high-speed rail system for a place where people have a love affair with their cars? Moulton, managing director of LSHSR, will talk about the opportunities and challenges for high-speed rail in the Lone Star State.
