HKS Serves: Making Impact on the Ground

By Jenny Li Fowler, HKS Communications

Public Service Week 2014 at Harvard Kennedy School featured an exciting lineup of events ranging from hands-on projects in the community to lectures on scaling up global development programs.

Activities included a blood drive, networking events, and preparing lunch for On The Rise Inc., an organization for homeless women.

Marisa Serrano, Community Relations Manager of On The Rise, Inc. said, "Your group did an exceptional job with lunch! Thank you so very much. I heard it was delicious!"

"It has been truly rewarding working with such a diverse and dedicated group to explore the many interests, geographies, and topics under the 'Public Service' umbrella," says Ashley Zlatinov MPP 2015. "Working with such a dedicated and relentless SPSC team this year has been a particular honor for me, and I look forward to another great semester and year ahead!"

Degree Programs and Student Affairs (DPSA) partnered with the Student Public Service Collaborative (SPSC) and others in the HKS community to lead the effort.
