David Gergen to Chair Duke University Project

December 10, 2007

David Gergen, director of the Kennedy School's Center for Public Leadership, will chair the national advisory board for a new project at Duke University, DukeEngage.

DukeEngage gives undergraduate students the opportunity to make civic engagement and public service part of their education.

"DukeEngage will give a significant number of Duke students a chance to become the social entrepreneurs of the future," said Gergen, Duke University alumnus and current trustee.

DukeEngage is funded by the Duke Endowment and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is slated to begin in summer 2008.
