Forbes.com Honors Student-Run Social Enterprise Conference

Forbes.com has named the Social Enterprise Conference as one of the top 12 conferences of 2009. The conference is hosted by students from both Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School.

As the organizers describe it, “the Social Enterprise Conference provides a forum for exploring the synergies between for-profit, non-profit, and public sector approaches to addressing critical social issues.”

“We are deeply honored to be the only entirely student-run initiative recognized by Forbes.com on their list,” said Shireen Santosham, MBA/MPA 09, 2009 conference co-chair. “The conference is one of the largest student-run initiatives at Harvard with over 1,100 attendees and is a testament to the desire of Harvard students to make a difference in the world.”

The 2009 Social Enterprise Conference takes place on March 1. and will feature keynote speakers Linda Rottenberg, CEO and co-founder of Endeavor; Priya Haji, CEO and co-founder of World of Good, Inc.; and Robert Chatwani, co-founder and general manager of WorldOfGood.com by eBay.

Other top conferences named by Forbes.com include the Yale CEO Leadership Summit and the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting.
