Two Harvard Kennedy School members of faculty have been profiled in a recently released book, “Conversations with Great Teachers” by Bill Smoot, English teacher at the Castilleja School in Palo Alto, California.

David King, public policy lecturer, and Hannah Riley Bowles, associate professor of public policy, are among 51 “great American teachers” profiled in the book.

King lectures on the U.S. Congress, Political Parties and Election Reform. He is the faculty director of Harvard's program for Newly Elected Members of the U.S. Congress and has run similar programs for the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Riley Bowles conducts research on gender in negotiation and the attainment of leadership positions. She is the faculty director of Women & Power, the HKS executive program for women leaders from the public, private and non-profit sectors. In 2003, she won the HKS Manuel Carballo Award for Excellence in Teaching.
