Luis A. Ubiñas to discuss being a new leader in philanthropy at Harvard Kennedy School

Cambridge, MA – Luis Antonio Ubiñas, president of the Ford Foundation, will discuss current trends in U.S. philanthropy and his ambitions for the Ford Foundation and the nonprofit sector on Nov. 12 at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Christopher Stone, faculty director of the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations, will lead the conversation with Ubiñas, followed by an open discussion with the audience. The event will be held from 12-1:30 pm in Bell Hall, Belfer Building, 79 JFK Street, Cambridge.

Ubiñas became the ninth president of the Ford Foundation in January 2008. Prior to joining Ford, he was a director at McKinsey & Company where he led McKinsey’s Media Practice on the West Coast of the United States, advising Fortune 100 media, telecommunications and technology companies on major strategic and operating challenges. Ubiñas also has a distinguished record of leadership in the nonprofit sector, advising senior management and serving on the boards of Leadership Education and Development (LEAD), a national organization providing educational opportunities to low-income African-American and Latino high school students, the Bay Area United Way, and the Steppingstone Foundation.

The seminar is sponsored by the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard University and is part of a series of public conversations with new leaders of foundations.
