Kennedy School to Host Social Security Debate

Cambridge, MA — Does the Trustees Report give the American Public all the important financial information about the Social Security System? That question will be discussed April 1 at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. The panel discussion titled "Social Security: Accounting and Financial Challenges" will begin at 6 p.m. in the 5th floor conference room, Taubman Building, 15 Eliot Street, Cambridge.

The discussion is being held in conjunction with the 2005 Midyear Meeting of the Government and Nonprofit Section of the American Accounting Association at the Kennedy School.

Panelists include:

Steve Goss, chief actuary, Social Security Administration

Howell Jackson, professor of law, Harvard Law School

David Mosso, chair, Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board

Elizabeth Keating (moderator), assistant professor of public policy, Kennedy School
