Internship Description:

We are pleased to announce the Generation Change Internship Program, which aims to provide an introduction to the field of community organizing for young people with an interest in social justice.  Generation Change will select qualified individuals for a 10-week paid summer internship.  Interns will begin with an exciting training, “Introduction to Organizing and Nonprofit Leadership” from June 3rd to 6th in Nashville , Tennessee (travel and lodging expenses will be paid).  The training will be followed by field placements in effective community organizations where interns will be exposed to various organizing campaigns, styles and strategies while conducting substantive work and providing support to the host organization. 

Generation Change will recruit 25 interns in the summer of 2007.  Internship placements will be focused in 4 locations:  the New York and Washington DC metropolitan areas, North Carolina , and Tennessee .  We will recruit college students and leaders in community-based organizations.
