Massachusetts Voter Action Project (MVAP)

  Submit a new internship opportunity
Internship Description:

We are excited to announce the upcoming Massachusetts Voter Action Project (MVAP), the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts' (PPAF) 11-week summer internship program. Student interns will learn about various aspects of political organizing, and then be placed on campaigns to elect pro-choice members to the Massachusetts State Legislature.

We are currently recruiting high school and college students from across the country to spend their summer in Massachusetts and participate in this program. The selected group of interns will attend a week-long training in Boston to learn the ins and outs of campaign work including volunteer management, voter file software, outreach and communications skills. After the training week, interns will be deployed in pairs to work on Massachusetts House and Senate campaigns across the state.

This is the second round of MVAP and we look forward to repeating and expanding on the successes of 2006. The valuable skills and strong relationships that interns have gained through this program have helped them to further their experience in many different fields, including legislative work in the Massachusetts State House Not only does this program build political skills of future pro-choice leaders, it helps to maintain and increase our pro-choice majorities in the Massachusetts House and Senate.
