Organization Description:

The Massachusetts Council of Churches is the statewide organization committed fully to the ecumenical vision. The Council provides a way that churches in this state can express our unity in Christ as fully and visibly as possible through joint planning, mutual counsel, and common programming. Christians come together through the Council to heal hurts, break down barriers, and build bridges.

Internship Description: The Healthy Churches Consultant, reporting to the Associate Director and based in Boston, will continue the work of the Healthy Churches project. He/She will be responsible for developing an appropriate outreach and advocacy campaign strategy as well as additional educational resources. He/She has responsibility for reaching out to key congregations, scheduling visits, making presentations and leading workshops. The position will entail organizing, outreach strategizing, administration, and resource development.
 
Qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree in related field and Master of Divinity or Theological studies degree preferred.

At least 1-2 years in experience in project coordination, organizing, religious education or ecumenical advocacy

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer proficient.

Knowledge of ecumenical theory and history preferred

Experience working with churches of various traditions

Ability to work well with a diverse group of colleagues, donors, staff, members, and volunteers.

Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks in a high work load environment.

Independent worker, self-starter and team player.

     
Time:   This is a part-time position of 15 hrs a week, $25.00 per hour. This is a grant funded position for the time of 7 months, with the possibility of renewal.
