Corporate Accountability International is a membership organization that has led and won campaigns challenging irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions around the world for the last 30 years. We have forced corporations like Nestlé, GE and Philip Morris/Altria to stop their abusive practices.  In the last three years we have expanded our campaigns significantly, including the launch of the Think Outside the Bottle campaign to challenge corporate control over water, and on-going campaigns to stop abuses by tobacco, food and agribusiness, and oil corporations.

Job Description: The Associate Development Director plays a lead role in Corporate Accountability International’s fundraising programs to fuel organizational expansion. With a history of significant campaign victories, the organization is in a strong position to expand. Our development unit focuses on maximizing net revenue from individual donors, national, international and religious foundations, events, direct mail and online outreach. The Associate Development Director recruits, manages and trains a team of major gift officers as well as securing significant gifts directly from individual donors and foundations.

Accountability: The Associate Development Director is accountable to the Development Director.

Location: Campaign Headquarters, Boston .

Major responsibilities:

  • Help develop and implement annual fundraising plans, budgets and monthly cash flow projections for Corporate Accountability International’s expansion.

  • Manage 2-4 development staff and the major gifts program.

  • Participate in cultivating, soliciting and growing Corporate Accountability International’s base of individual and foundation donors throughout the U.S. – in person, over the phone and in writing.

  • Work closely with the Development Director to drive organizational expansion, and long-range funding strategies.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, records and systems.

  • Increase donor commitment and campaign participation through regular and sophisticated communication.

 
Qualifications:  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to corporate accountability, with a global perspective.

  • Minimum 4 years full-time non-profit experience, with proven track record in face-to-face fundraising (particularly major gifts and foundations), organizing, and strong staff and program management skills.

  • Proven ability to project and meet budgets in a growing organization.

  • Strategic planning savvy.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Organized and diligent record-keeping and administration ability, while setting and meeting deadlines.

  • Facility with numbers and analysis, Excel and database applications.

  • Experienced and effective national traveler, with enthusiasm for more!

Salary and Benefits:  

$40,000-$50,000 depending on experience, with a generous benefits package.
