Company Description: Massachusetts Communities Action Network (MCAN) works to develop and support broad based community organizations in New England.  These are made up of congregations, and sometimes other organizations and unions, acting together for their values and interests. Our affiliated organizations work to strengthen households, the community, the work place, and the congregation.  They enable people to act on their faith values and democratic values. http://www.mcan-oltc.org/

As a statewide network, MCAN and its affiliates led campaigns that won state appropriations this year of $13 million for crime prevention and $18 million for job training. We are also working on implementation of the new state law that greatly expands health insurance for the uninsured.

Job Description: Massachusetts Communities Action Network (MCAN), seeks experienced community organizers for several affiliated organizations located in the Metropolitan Boston area.

These include Metropolitan Interfaith Congregations located in the MetroWest area, Essex County Community Organization located in the Lynn/North Shore area, and Brockton Interfaith located in the city of Brockton.

Each of these organizations has a long record of work on jobs, housing, crime prevention, health care, and immigration issues.

We are interested in your development as a person and as an organizer and will work with you in an on-going way for your development as an effective organizer.
