Company Description:

The Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition advocates for the rights and opportunities of immigrants and refugees across the Commonwealth.

Job Description: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Organizing will develop and supervise the implementation of a comprehensive statewide organizing plan in relation to the Coalition’s work at the federal, state and local levels. Responsibilities

-Develop and implement organizing strategy across Massachusetts and the New England region;

-Develop and implement a statewide voter engagement plan

-Supervise field organizers and the New American Democracy Fellowship ;

-Create relationships with key partners to drive campaigns forward, including staff supervision, and coordination of district and state house advocacy and actions

-Work with staff to organize quick and effective responses to challenges such as unfavorable legislation or policies;

-Engage elected officials as necessary regarding MIRA legislative priorities.

 
Qualifications:   Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience.
  • At least 5 years experience as an institutional organizer
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
  • Proven experience in evaluating organizing targets and implement organizing strategies;
  • Ability to write organizing plans and grant proposals;
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues of immigration required, including race, class, and gender, and the ability to assist others to develop that type of understanding;
  • State-wide travel required;
  • Bilingual/bicultural highly desired
Salary and Benefits:   Eligible for Health and Dental Plans. Salary range $48,000 - $52,000.
