Job Description:

Position:               Director of Program Support – Full-time

Location:              Stand for Children National Office – Portland , Oregon

Reports To:          Executive Director

Start Date:           Available Immediately

The Director of Program Support, a key new position that will be part of Stand for Children’s senior leadership, will play an integral role in advancing Stand for Children’s mission by ensuring outstanding program support services and serving as production manager for all print communications. Program support includes national office delivery of development, communications, and membership support services to all state affiliates, and coordination with state-based staff providing program support services for their state affiliate.

The Director of Program Support supervises program support staff based in our national office. These positions currently include an Online Communications Manager, Development Manager & Policy Analyst, Membership Associate, and Development & Program Assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Directly supervise Program Support staff based in our national office.  Supervision responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate annual, six month, and quarterly performance goal-setting for individual supervisees and the Program Support team, along with semi-annual individual and program evaluations

  • Ensure supervisees develop rigorous, realistic monthly workplans and reach their benchmarks

  • Conduct weekly check-ins with supervisees and support their professional development

  • Develop communications, development, and membership acquisition and retention strategies, in collaboration with appropriate colleagues in the national office and state affiliates.

  • Ensure coordination of communications, development, membership, and other program support services in partnership with both national office and state-based program support staff.

  • Strategic leadership on web content, in coordination with national office and state-based staff. 

  • Manage design, production, and distribution of print communications, including managing graphic designers and production vendors, to ensure cost-effective, efficient execution.

  • Provide quality assurance for print, Web, and email communications.

  • Coordinate with IT and Admin staff to ensure optimal use of Stand’s Raiser’s Edge database to deliver communications to targeted audiences and for tracking and enhancing donor relations.

  • Continually improve effectiveness of print and digital communications by identifying and tracking performance metrics and adjusting strategies to improve outcomes.

 
Qualifications:  

QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES REQUIRED

  • 5+ years professional experience in a relevant field(s) such as marketing, development, publishing/production management, management consulting, or political advocacy

  • Demonstrated management and supervision excellence

  • Excellent verbal, writing, editing, and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong drive to achieve continuous improvement

  • Seeks and readily incorporates direct feedback

  • Entrepreneurial, mission-driven orientation combined with steady, methodical approach to setting and reaching goals

  • Strong commitment to Stand for Children’s mission

  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud Net Community a plus

Salary and Benefits:   $80,000-$95,000 plus benefits
